Who are Loki’s Rescue ?

We are a small localised rescue based in the Midlands

We provide fostering, rehoming support, advice, signposting and in some cases financial support for any family who contacts us where we believe we can help.

  • We only deal with animals that are already permanently resident in the UK. We do not, and will not, import dogs from any other country. We have neither the time, interest, or experience to do so. We WILL help an animal in the UK that originated in Europe but only if the existing rescue is no longer supporting.

  • We only take on animals that we believe we can reasonably manage. We maintain extremely close relationships with all our adopters and fosters, therefore manage the number of animals we have very carefully. We will never have a long list of animals for adoption because we will only accept a surrender if we have the time to support the new carers properly to maximise the likelihood of a placement working long term

  • We do not accept any animal for rehoming who we believe will bounce around from home to home. So no animals with serious aggression issues, serious guarding problems, bite history, or other major behavioural problems. We believe that specialist rescues are much better placed to help those animals, and we will signpost families onto those rescues. We will accept routine behavoural issues that are manageable with training and behavioural intervention.

  • We will accept animals who come to us because their owners need to surrender due to the cost of medical intervention. If a vet can confirm to us that the animal will have a good quality and length of life post treatment, we will fund that treatment and ensure the animal goes on to a happy and loving home

  • We will not foster or adopt our adult dogs into families with young children as we rarely have a full behavioural and medical assessment on those dogs.

  • We would considering adopting a young puppy into a family with young children where we have been involved in the pups care since birth.

  • Other than children we have no blanket rules on fostering and adoption. We are small enough to take a more personalised approched to a tailored home for an individual dog.
