We are a foster based rescue. This means we do not put dogs into kennels unless its absolutely unavoidable.
We want our dogs to have the best start in their new lives, and the best place to do that is in a family environment.
Our fosters provide the dogs surrendered to us with a safe space to decompress. They assess the dogs’ needs and help us determine which permanent placement would be best for these dogs. They often have to start these dogs with their basic training, which can include housetraining, lead walking, and basic commands.
They are the ones who turn these dogs lives around to help them become healthy, happy, socialised and loving pets.
And often they decide to become that dog’s forever home.
What we ask of our fosters :
In some cases submit to a DBS check
Provide the dog with a warm, safe and respectful home
Pay for the dog’s food and comforts
Assess the dogs behaviour to support us in matching to a permanent home
Ensure the dog receives medical care when required (paid for by the rescue)
Ensure the dog receives basic training
Ensure that the dog receives behavioural intervention when required (paid for by the rescue)
Ensure that the dog is socialised well with humans and other animals
Allow potential adopters to come and meet the dog in a familiar environment
On occasion provide the dog with end of life care
