Gordon
Sadly Gordon went to Rainbow Bridge on 13th August 2022 after a severe and sudden illness. He knew nothing but happiness and love for his final few months, and went to sleep in the arms of his foster. Run free beautiful boy
Gordon was a slightly tricky one to find a home for as he was surrendered to us as an old man with complex health issues. His owner could no longer afford the health care associated with his renal issues, which involved monthly blood tests and a specialist vet prescribed diet. Given his poor prognosis, not many people were willing to take on a dog that might not have very long to live.
Luckily for Gordon persistence paid off and we found the most amazing foster carer who was extremely experienced in Shepherds, willing and committed to providing him the happiest and most comfortable home for as long as he would still be here. Fosters willing to provide end of life care are simply the most amazing, unselfish and dedicated people.
Because of the inevitable need for ongoing veterinary treatment, for his age if not his kidneys, Gordon will stay as a permanent foster under the rescue rather than move to adoption.
