Tazz
TAZZ is now 8 weeks of age and coming along beautifully. He is a saluki cross (we’re not sure what he’s crossed with however all signs point towards Labrador / Golden Retriever father but only a DNA test will confirm )
For those who haven’t seen his previous updates he is a tripaw. His back leg was removed at 6 weeks old due to a catastrophic injury. We aren’t sure how or when the injury happened, but the only solution was a complete amputation
He will need no further vet treatment for his leg so do not be concerned about any costs - other than the fact that he is missing one corner, he is a completely normal and happy puppy. Everything related to the amputation has been paid for already and no follow up is needed
He is managing extremely well on his 3 legs - he’s up and down the stairs like a demon, just about managing to get up on the sofa and has just started going into the garden
He is brilliant with other dogs - but please consider his size versus your other dogs size (if you have one - he’s currently very little and not very well balanced)
Due to his being taken away from mum at 5 weeks he was showing a touch of separation anxiety - and my goodness did he tell you he wasn’t happy - but he’s been working really hard on it and will now quietly sit in the crate while you get on with other things
He’s just reached the land shark stage so any families applying should be mindful of relentless needle sharp around their ankles, toes, fingers or anything else that moves
He has been an absolute joy to foster - he is most definitely taking a big chunk of our hearts with him. And not just ours - everyone who has met this boy has fallen in love with him - including our entire vet team.
He's off to a wonderful family, with 2 young (ish - early teens) boys to call his own, acres of countryside and miles and miles of beaches to lollop across. We know he is going to be completely adored so we're a mixture of devastated and delighted.
Thank you to everyone who expressed an interest in Tazz .. but most of all, if you're reading this, thank you to the absolute angel who got him out of that breeding pen, off to the vets to get his lifesaving surgery, and so generously asked us to help find him his happy ever after. You saved this little guys life and he's more than showing you why you were right.
